Oscar de la Renta // Pre Show Meeting

A video posted by Atif Ateeq (@atifateeq) on

One of the things I love about film making is all the different worlds and people that its connects me to. There are very few professions that will allow you to work intimately with a variety of brands that you admire and look up to. Recently my agency, The Wall Group, set up a meeting for me to discuss shooting the Oscar de la Renta Bridal show.

I was particularly hype about this because this is one of the biggest fashion houses in the world and I've always been a fan of their work. At the meeting it turned out that I was exactly what they were looking for. Someone to document their show in a unique way and pump out some exciting content for their website and social channels.

With this video I was asked to document the process a few days leading up to the show. I went in for three days capturing all the process of the dresses being made, casting and then fittings with models and then of course day of the show. It's incredible to see all the steps that lead up to a runway show. Literally months go into prepping for it and once the first model walks, you blink and its all over.

I just completed the full video and submitted it to team Oscar de la Renta for review. I'm really happy with the way it came out. It has all the right elements of tone, mood and storytelling. It will be releasing soon but for now check out some BTS stuff created for their Instagram. [/one_half_last]

Below is the 3rd, please take a look. In two weeks I goto Vegas to shoot my forth show with them. Stay tuned for that!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Trailer

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starts next week and I'm pretty much booked up every day shooting videos that need to be turned around in a day or two. This means an overwhelming amount of work, lack of sleep, poor nutrition and whole lot of hustle. It's so exhausting but the excitement that come with it makes up for that. Can't wait to get started.

Here is the official trailer I cut for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Which is now live on their site. Please check it out:

In Vegas for Liberty Fairs

A few months ago I was in Vegas shooting this video for Liberty Fairs. I've been to Vegas a lot, at first it was to show Vane at trade shows and then for a few video project and in my time there I came to hate it. I don't gamble, I've cut down a lot on partying and coming from NY thats really isnt a selling point, I don't do strip clubs and I hate the heat...so there really isn't anything I enjoy doing down there. That being said I actually had a great time while on this trip. The key is to get off the strip and stay out of the clubs.

DSC08171So this was my favorite part of the trip. My homie Jeff, founder of Blind Barber, hosted a dinner in downtown old Vegas at the Carson Kitchen. This place was more my vibe and the food was amazing. If you ever find yourself in Vegas get off the strip and go here for a meal.
