I said this before but Texas is way up there as one of my favorite states to visit. It's so diverse in landscape and local culture and I always have a fun unique experience when I'm down there. We went to Dallas for our friends Carolina and Andrews wedding in October and tagged on an extra day in Austin. I hadn't been in a while and Austin's always a good time. But truth is that most of the times I was out there I was either working or there for SXSW, this was the first time I was there just to chill and hang. So instead of hitting up bars and bbq the focus of this trip became exploration and art.

If you ever find yourself in Austin these are some places you must hit up. In no particular order.

• The Contemporary Austin (Downtown location)
• Torchy's Taco for some of the best tacos
• Allens Boots if you're into getting a pair of cowboy boots.
• Uncommon Projects to see a collection of just cool stuff.
• Wonderland Austin for good music and a drink in the evening.
• Liberty for more drinks and food after Wonderland.
• Taco-Mex for some of the cheapest, best breakfast tacos.
• La Barbecue for some of the best BBQ you've had out of a truck or fine restaurant.
• Tears of Joy Hot Sauce Shop I always pop in here and grab something, great store.
• South Congress just to chill.
• The Driskill for a nice Drink.
• Kimber Modern is a great little boutique hotel if you are looking for a sleek place to stay.
• Franks Restaurant for a hot dog.

We started this particular trip off at the Contemporary in Austin which has two locations, one right downtown and the other a bit outside of the city with sculptures and installations on a large outdoor property.

This was pretty great. At the downtown location they had an installation by Do Ho Suh. It was a replica of the house he grew up in made with wires and fabric.

A few months ago I was in Vegas shooting this video for Liberty Fairs. I've been to Vegas a lot, at first it was to show Vane at trade shows and then for a few video project and in my time there I came to hate it. I don't gamble, I've cut down a lot on partying and coming from NY thats really isnt a selling point, I don't do strip clubs and I hate the heat...so there really isn't anything I enjoy doing down there. That being said I actually had a great time while on this trip. The key is to get off the strip and stay out of the clubs.

So this was my favorite part of the trip. My homie Jeff, founder of Blind Barber, hosted a dinner in downtown old Vegas at the Carson Kitchen. This place was more my vibe and the food was amazing. If you ever find yourself in Vegas get off the strip and go here for a meal.

I'm not really that big on guns but ironically the Monkey Jungle we went to in the DR also had an outdoor gun range. They were pretty good at the up sell and before I knew it I had a glock in my hand shooting at watermelons. It was moderately fun feeling that rush every time I pulled the trigger but it wasn't for me, don't think I'll be shooting more guns anytime soon.

Yo I'll keep it 100, when the idea of going to the jungle to hang with monkey came up I was like "Nah man it's not really my thing". But then, after giving it some thought, I got the idea of taking a selfie with a monkey stuck in my head and convinced myself to drive two hours and kick it with these primates. It's funny how sometimes Instagram becomes the deciding factor for me of whether I want to do something or not. More often than I care to admit I've said yes to something because it would make for a good picture. And theres nothing really strange about that, I'm a photographer at heart and capturing unique moments to record my experiences is always on my mind. However this idea of doing it for the Instagram and sharing these experiences INSTANTLY is fairly new and highly addictive. It definitely nudges me to do things that are outside my comfort zone and have experiences I normally wouldn't. So I guess it is a positive but then I find myself asking If i'm over sharing, if it really for me or for the likes, is there a braggy undertone to what I'm posting and if any of these question even matter? Maybe, maybe not. The point is I TOOK A SELFIE WITH A MONKEY.

For a brown dude, my skin is overly sensitive to the sun and unless I'm wearing SPF70+ my skin will painfully burn for 3 days straight after exposure to the sun. Therefore the beach isn't really my favorite place to be. But I took a chance on Playa Grande because people wouldn't shut up about how dope it is. Tucked away in Cabrera with great views, clear water and clean sand, Playa Grande, was actually worth the trip. I went H.A.M with the sunblock, grabbed my cameras and went over with a few friends. The best part was that there were no tourists around to pollute my airspace and we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. A lot of the footage I shot in this video was with a GoPro on this beach.
